American beautyberry
Callicarpa americana

American beautyberry is also known as French mulberry, sourbush, bunchberry, or purple beauty-berry. It is a fast-growing native perennial shrub; growing 5 to 8 feet tall. American beautyberry does best in moist, loamy, or sandy soil. It prefers a shady location. Tiny pink flowers appear in spring and early summer, followed by tight clusters of deep purple berries in the fall.
